Nice is a great city to choose as a base. However note that mid March end of April is considered low season, so I wouldn’t expect to find a lot of nomad activity there. Coworking spaces will have more of a local crowd.

Weather will be generally good, with some cooler episodes. You will be able to enjoy the sea in April, if you don’t hate cold water, otherwise invest in a wetsuit

What’s nice a bout the south of France is that you’re just a quick train ride away from a lot of places, so you can easily move to Cannes or other places if you’re bored or want a change of scenery

Hello. I’m planning to come to Paris at the end of May for three weeks. Could you advise me on the best area/site to rent an apartment, and what are the typical prices there? I’m looking for a small studio or one-bedroom apartment located within 10-20 minutes by metro from the central districts. In other cities (like Madrid, Lisbon, etc.), it usually cost me around €100 per night. It would be great to find something similar in Paris, but a bit more expensive would also be fine

At ~100€/night you can book some 3 stars hotel like ibis style breakfast included.
Depending of the day can be from ~80€ up to ~130€/night.
Generally in center room are smaller, only downside.
I find hotel cheaper than Airbnb, but no kitchen.

Areas:
- republic great area for metro + bike, bars everywhere
- sentier, less metro, calmer, hotel more expensive
- chatelet, center, great for metro, but crowed + hotel are expensive
- avoid 18th arrondissement, cheap, but drug dealer & crackheads
- 8th arrondissement: beautiful building, but no activities at night
- 4th arrondissement is nice too, expensive

bsizzlbhwvx Thank you for the excellent recommendations! As for my preferences, I don’t go to bars and generally don’t go out in the evenings. The most important thing for me is to be able to get to the city centre quickly and easily, as I plan to visit virtually all the main sights and museums, etc.

The sentier maybe a good fit. Also maybe the 2th arrondissement but not sure you can find under 200€/night.
The 4th arrondissement north of the seine is calm too & walkable distance of museums.
The diameter of Paris center is ~40km, so you can almost walk anywhere, not like London.

What about the 11th to 19th arrondissements? According to the map, they are only three or four metro stops from the centre. Does it make sense to stay there?

Yes you can, cheaper, not center for 19th.
11th is nice too the area near canal St Martin has night life + beautiful.
For 19th:
The "bassin de la vilette is really nice you have two interesting métro line 5 & 7 + the park Buttes-chaumont is amazing (no many metro through) you can even visit an orthodox church at Crimée street.
If you continue north-east you have La Villette a modern park.

Leboncoin maybe ~Craigslist but not sure you can find short term, more for long-term renting + it will be in french.
